Developed from attendee feedback, the Senior Residents Conference and Residents Day Program aimed to eliminate some of the unknown for residents as they transition to practicing surgeons. Residents benefited from the engaging and insightful interactions with veterans of the specialty, who shared personal stories and provided advice on how to land a full-time position and instruction on how to properly set up and manage a practice.

Program Highlights

» Focused sessions on contracting, selecting the appropriate practice type and the use of social media to promote a practice

» Excellent opportunity for residents to network with peers and establish contacts with ASPS leadership and other potential member mentors

» Industry supported presentations introduced residents to programs for new to practice surgeons and provided financial support for the meeting

» A record high one hundred fifty-four resident scientific papers were presented

Inspired by a unique collaborative meeting format designed to draw on real knowledge and experience, Re-Boot Camp’s innovative immersion program provided leading-edge tools to optimize members’ business practices. The camp engaged attendees in new ways to improve their profit margins, manage problematic staff and target their market’s most profitable patient population. The camp also debuted Practice Enhancing Didactic (P.E.D.) Talks—concise, practice-enhancing lectures partnered with in-depth discussions.
